Arnold Spencer-Smith Commemoration
Tuesday March 9th 5.30pm at All Saints’ Dunedin North

Tuesday March 9th 2021 is the 105th anniversary of the death of Rev. Arnold Spencer-Smith, explorer, padre & photographer to Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition.

At 5.30pm on March 9th there will be a Mass in honour of Arnold Spencer-Smith, led by Bishop Steven Benford, using the chalice and paten Spencer-Smith took to Antarctica.

Following the service there will be a reception in All Saints’ Hall.

At 7.00pm the 3rd Annual Arnold Spencer-Smith Lecture will take place at All Saints’ hall.
Moira White, Curator, Humanities, Otago Museum will speak on ‘People and penguins: Otago Museum and the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition’
