Thursday March 9th 2023 marks the 107th anniversary of the death of Rev. Arnold Spencer-Smith Antarctic explorer, Padre, Photographer to the Ross Sea Party of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. Coming up this week on Thursday the 9th of March at 5:30 PM we have a special mass using Spencer-Smith’s original chalice and paten, following this we will have a reception at 6:30 followed by a lecture at 7 PM. The lecture this year will be ‘The Dogs of the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition and other Heroic Era Expeditions’ led by Dr. Jill Haley, Dunedin City Council Archivist. All are welcome to attend
